OVERVIEW
We are a working croft, home to the Romesdal fold of registered, pedigree, Highland cattle and a small flock of Cheviot sheep.
There are excellent views from the breakfast room across Loch Snizort with the Cuillin hills to the south. At the moment we are offering only one double bedroom with tea and coffee making facilities, exclusive use a large, newly modernised bathroom with shower and bath and an upstairs sitting room with television (and fine views).
By prior arrangement we may be able to cater for families or parties of four with another available room. This will ensure that your stay is quiet and private within an unhurried, informal and friendly household.
The house was modernized and extended in 2007 with central heating throughout making this a very comfortable, quiet and private base for your holiday on the Isle of Skye. There will be no strangers at the breakfast table.
GETTING THERE
Romesdal is situated just off the main A87 road, mid-way between the Skye village of Portree and the ferry terminal at Uig. At the Romesdal sign we are the house directly on the corner, with trees. Usually, a rather battered white Land Rover will be in the driveway.
A ten minute drive either way takes you to Uig or Portree. There is easy access to the shores of Loch Snizort, the hills above Kingsburgh and the Trotternish Ridge.
Romesdal is ideally situated as a base to explore the North and West of Skye and is also a convenient stopping point for those travelling to and from the Outer Isles.
